Selbstverständnis der Bewohner_innen des Bettenhauses
Wozu das Ganze?
Das Zusammenleben in einem selbstverwalteten Wohnprojekt bedarf bestimmter Spielregeln, die von einzelnen Bewohner_innen, aber auch von den Bewohner_innen gegenüber Einzelnen einklagbar sind. Konflikte und Auseinandersetzungen sind in einem solchen Projekt unvermeidlich. Um einen konstruktiven Umgang damit zu finden, bedarf es einiger Voraussetzungen und Spielregeln, die als „minimal consens“ von allen BewohnerInnen akzeptiert und eingehalten werden. Angesprochen ist hiermit ein gewisses Maß an sozialer Kompetenz und Eigenverantwortlichkeit.
Unser Selbstverständnis
Das Bettenhaus versteht sich als eine Alternative zu vereinzelnden Formen Wohnens, sei es in herkömmlichen Studierendenwohnheimen oder in Einzelapartments. Auch unterscheidet es sich deutlich vom Zusammenleben in studentischen Korporationen: Eine Form des Zusammenlebens, die in aller Regel auf dem Ausschluss von Frauen und einem elitär-hierarchischen Weltbild beruht, ist mit unseren grundlegenden Überzeugungen unvereinbar. Das Bettenhaus definiert sich als international, basisdemokratisch und selbstverwaltet.
Als kollektives Wohnprojekt eröffnet das Bettenhaus Freiräume und Möglichkeiten für Alternativen zum herkömmlichen, entfremdeten Leben, Wohnen, Arbeiten und Studieren in einer Gesellschaft, die von ungehemmter wirtschaftlicher Konkurrenz und von ausgrenzenden Ideologien geprägt ist. Daher wenden wir uns aufmerksam gegen Verhaltensweisen, die aktiv oder passiv Menschen ausgrenzen. Diskriminierungen aufgrund von Zuschreibungen wie „Volks“-, „Rassen“- oder „Geschlechts“-Zugehörigkeit lehnen wir ebenso ab, wie Benachteiligungen aufgrund der Klassenherkunft oder anatomischer, motorischer sowie geistiger Eigenschaften und Fähigkeiten.
Damit diese Ansprüche im Alltag wirksam sind, bedarf es für uns Anerkennung und Tradierung bestimmter Maximen: Ohne Frage gilt Gewalt gegen Bewohner_innen und deren Hab und Gut als untragbares Mittel der Auseinandersetzungen. Ohne Zweifel werden Anfeindungen und Diskriminierungen, beispielsweise auf Grund der nationalen oder sozialen Herkunft, nicht hingenommen. Gleiches gilt für sexistische, rassistische, antisemitische, faschistische, homophobe Anfeindungen und Handlungsweisen. Einen Lösungsversuch von Problemen unter Zuhilfenahme von Polizei, Justiz und anderen staatlichen Einrichtungen lehnen wir, wenn irgend möglich, ab. Daran muss sich das Verhalten der Bewohner_innen und Gäste in konkreten Situationen messen lassen.
Betroffene können mit der Solidarität der Hausgemeinschaft rechnen. Wer die Grundlagen des Hauses missachtet oder verletzt, muss sich im Klaren darüber sein, dass sie von allen Hausbewohner_innen eingefordert werden. Wir behalten uns als Bewohner_innen explizit vor, jemanden aus unserer Solidarität auszuschließen, indem wir als Konsequenz den Auszug aus dem Haus und/oder ein Hausverbot beschließen.
Paritätisches Miteinander von Frauen und Männern und Menschen mit
und ohne deutschen Pass
Aus dem Grundsatz, kein rassistisches, sexistisches, antisemitisches und faschistisches Verhalten zu tolerieren, erwächst der Anspruch, das Haus paritätisch mit Frauen und Männern sowie mit „Deutschen“ und Nicht-Pass-Deutschen bzw. nicht als „deutsch“ wahrgenommenen Menschen zu belegen. Dasselbe gilt für die Besetzung des Vorstands. Eine Belegung allein garantiert jedoch noch nicht einen diskriminierungsfreien Raum, deswegen erwarten wir von allen Mitbe-wohner_innen sich selbstreflexiv an die anti-diskriminierenden Grundsätze zu halten, um ein gemeinschaftliches, alternatives Wohnen möglich zu
machen.
Basisdemokratie
Alle hausrelevanten Entscheidungen werden gemeinsam auf der Hausversammlung entschieden. Der Vorstand ist nur für die alltägliche Verwaltung eingesetzt. Die WGen entscheiden ihre Organisierung, im Rahmen des Selbstverständnisses,
autonom.
Kollektivität – Das Bettenhaus ist selbstorganisiert, aber es organisiert sich nicht von selbst!
Die spezifische Wohnform im Bettenhaus – elf autonome Wohngemeinschaften, die untereinander in engem Kontakt stehen – fordert dazu heraus, neue Wege des zwischenmenschlichen Zusammenlebens auszuprobieren. Dies setzt auf allen Seiten Of- fenheit für plurale Lebensformen voraus. Jede_r, die_ der hier wohnt, ist aufgefordert, Verantwortung für das Haus und das Funktionieren und die Zukunft des Wohnprojekts zu übernehmen, da jede_r ein Teil der Hausgemeinschaft ist. Als Richtwert halten wir es für angemessen eine Stunde pro Woche für und in das Projekt zu investieren. Insbesondere ist jede_r dazu aufgefordert, an den regelmäßigen Hausversammlungen teilzunehmen.
Darüber hinaus gibt es viele Möglichkeiten sich zu engagieren: Partizipation an den hausübergreifenden Entscheidungsprozessen Gremienarbeit (Beirat, BettenhausInformations-Gesprächs-Gremium (BIG), Schlichtungsgremium), Öffentlichkeitsarbeit, Sanierungsmaßnahmen, Hausmeister_innenarbeiten, Kunstprojekte, Organisation der internen Kommunikation, des jährlichen Bettenhaus-Sommerfestes, von Filmabenden, der Bibliothek, des Bandproberaums, des Sportraumes, der Werkstatt, der wöchentlichen „Hauskneipe“, Kooperationsprojekte mit der Bettenhaus Kindergruppe des Eltern-Kind-Vereins, Dokumentation der Geschichte des Hauses und des Wohnprojekts. Die Bewohner_innen können frei wählen, welche der hier aufgelisteten Aufgaben sie übernehmen möchten.
Das Bettenhaus bietet Freiräume für Kreativität
Bei der Gestaltung der WG-Zimmer und WG-Gemeinschaftsräume, aber auch andere Kunstprojekte und die Kreativ-Räume im Keller können sich alle Bewohner_innen einbringen. Die „Rakete“ kann von Bewohner_innen für Kneipenabende, Konzerte, Veranstaltungen und Partys in Absprache mit der Hausversammlung genutzt werden.
Externe Gruppen
Das Haus kann und soll von politischen Gruppen und Kulturinitiativen als Treffpunkt genutzt werden. Die Initiativen müssen sich mit dem Selbstverständnis des Hauses einverstanden erklären und dieses aktiv vertreten. Auf der Mitgliederversammlung können Initiativen und Gruppen anfragen, ob sie die Gemeinschaftsräume im Keller nutzen können .

Fundamental rules of the Bettenhaus
What are they needed for?
As in any other kind of community, conflicts in a self-organised house are inevitable. In order to make the living together work, basic rules need to be shared and respected by all the people living in the project: the respect of these rules can be demanded from each inhabitant to the community and by the community to each inhabitant. Living together requires a certain amount of social competences and personal responsability.
How the Bettenhaus understands itself as a political and social project
The Bettenhaus considers itself as an alternative to isolated living solutions, such as living in a student hostel or in a private apartment. Moreover, living in the Bettenhaus is radically different from living in a fraternity hall: fraternities exclude women and promote a hierarchical and elitary ideology that is not compatible with our fundamental principles.
The Bettenhaus understands itself as an international, self-organised and grass-roots democratic collective project. It provides alternative possibilities to a traditional and isolated life, based on restrainless economical liberalism and social exclusion. We refuse any discriminatory behaviour -active or passive-. We refuse and condemn discrimination based on categories such as „nation“,“race“, „sex“ and „social class“. We also refuse discriminations based on physical or psychical abilities.
In order for these rules to be applied in everyday life, they have to be shared by all: by any means should physical violence against other people be admissible as a method to explain your reasons. It is also clear that nationalist, sexist,racist.antisemitic,fascist,homophobe discriminations and behaviours will not be accepted.
The respect of these basic rules can be demanded by every and each inhabitant of the house. Should an incident occurr, the afflicted person can rely on the project’s solidarity. Who violates the basic community rules has to realize that he/she would be deprived of the house’s solidarity and trust, and therefore he/she would have to move out of the house.
Equal number of „women“ and „men“ and „german“ and „non-german“ citizens
The anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-antisemite and anti-fascist principles lead to the fact that an equal number of „women“ and „men“ and people who have a german passport and people who do not have a german passport or are not perceived as „german“ should live in the house. The same principle applies for the management collective. An equal share does not guarantee a non-discriminatory space, though: we ask to all the inhabitants to adhere to these basic rules, in order to allow a communitarian and alternative living in the Bettenhaus.
Grass-roots democracy
The function of the management collective is only to guarantee the administrative good functioning of the house. All the decisions concerning the house should be taken by the inhabitants‘ general meeting that is open to every and each person living in the Bettenhaus.
The apartments organise themselves autonomously, always keeping in mind the general principles of the house community.
Collective organisation
The Bettenhaus is self-organised, but this does not mean that it organises by itself! Since every inhabitant is part of the community, every and each inhabitant is required to take part in the activities, in order to ensure the good functioning and the progress of the project. Everyone is invited to participate to the general meetings, which take place regularly once every two weeks.
Moreover, we think it is fair to spend at least one hour per week for the project. There are many possibilities to take part to the activities of the project: participate in different commissions (BIG- Deluxe, management collective), take care of the house’s public relations, follow the renovation process, collaborate with the different groups (Bar group, Sommerfest group, Fotolabor group, Library group, Atelier and Werkstatt group, Day care group, Sport group). The inhabitants can choose freely in which activities to participate.
The Bettenhaus provides free space for creativity
Every inhabit is encouraged to re-decorate the apartments‘ private and collective rooms and the cellar rooms and also to start new artistic projects.
The „Rakete“ (the Rocket) is Bettenhaus‘ pub and it can be used for regular meetings, concerts, and parties, if approved by the inhabitants‘ general meeting (MV).
External groups
The Bettenhaus functions also as meeting point for different cultural and political groups. Of course these groups have to share the Bettenhaus‘ principles and they have to ask permission to the inhabitants‘ general meeting before using the rooms in the cellar.

A cosa serve?
Come in qualsiasi altra comunitá, anche in un progetto abitativo autogesto i conflitti sono inevitabili. Affinché la vita in comune possa funzionare serve che ci siano regole basilari, che siano rispettate e condivise da tutti coloro che vivono nel progetto. Il rispetto delle suddette regole puó essere esatto sia da un singolo nei confronti della comunitá, sia dalla comunitá nei confronti del singolo. La vita in comune richiede un certo grado di competenze sociali e responsabilitá individuale.
Progetto politico e sociale della Bettenhaus
Bettenhaus si propone come un‘ alternativa alle forme abitative comunitarie, sia nei tradizionali studentati sia nei singoli appartamenti. Si differenzia anche in maniera sostanziale dalle corporazioni studentesche: una vita in comune che esclude le donne e che é organizzata gerarchicamente da un‘elite non puó essere associata alle nostre convinzioni.
Bettenhaus é un progetto collettivo internazionale, autoorganizzato e democratico di base. Offre un‘alternativa ad una vita tradizionale ed isolata, basata sulla concorrenza economica sfrenata e sull‘esclusione sociale. Rifiutiamo ogni comportamento discriminatorio basato sulle categorie di „nazione“,“razza“,“genere“ e „classe sociale“, nonché sulle abilitá fisiche o psichiche.
Affinché questi principi possano essere applicati nella quotidianitá, devono essere condivisi da tutti: in nessun caso viene accettato il metodo della violenza fisica come spiegazione delle proprie ragioni. Altrettanto chiaro é il fatto che comportamenti e discriminazioni di tipo sessista, razzista, antisemitico, fascista, omofobico non sono tollerati.
Il rispetto di queste regole puó essere esatto da ciascuno degli abitanti: in caso di spiacevoli incidenti, la persona offesa puó contare sulla solidarietá della comunitá. Coloro che violano le regole fondamentali della comunitá non possono piú aspettarsi di avere la solidarietá e la fiducia della casa, e perció devono traslocare fuori dal progetto.
Quota paritaria di „donne“ e „uomini“ e cittadini tedeschi e non
I principi antirazzisti, antisessisti, anti-antisemitici e antifascisti si realizzano nel fatto che una quota paritaria di „donne“ e „uomini“ e di persone con cittadinanza tedesca e non (ma anche coloro che, pur avendo la cittadinanza, non sono percepiti come „tedeschi“) devono vivere nella casa. Lo stesso principio si applica per il collettivo di gestione.
Una quota paritaria tuttavia non garantisce spazi non discriminatori, perció chiediamo a tutti gli abitanti di aderire a queste regole di base per permettere una vita comunitaria e alternativa in Bettenhaus.
Democrazia di base
La funzione del collettivo di gestione é solo quella di garantire il corretto funzionamento della casa dal punto di vista amministrativo. Tutte le decisioni concernenti la casa e la comunitá vengono prese
dalla riunione generale degli abitanti, aperta a chiunque viva in Bettenhaus.
I singoli appartamenti si organizzano autonomamente, sempre tenendo presenti i principi basilari della comunitá.
Organizzazione collettiva
La Bettebhaus é auto-organizzata, ma non si organizza da sola! Dal momento che ogni abitante é parte della comunitá, ci si aspetta che tutti prendano parte alle attivitá per garantire il buon funzionamento e il progresso del nostro progetto. Tutti sono invitati alla riunione generale degli abitanti, che si tiene regolarmente ogni due settimane. Inoltre reputiamo corretto investire almeno un‘ora del proprio tempo alla settimana nel progetto. Ci sono molte attivitá a cui si puó partecipare, tra cui diverse commissioni (BIG-Deluxe, collettivo di gestione), curare le pubbliche relazioni della casa, seguire i lavori di ristrutturazione, vari gruppi (gruppo Bar, gruppo organizzatore del Sommerfest, laboratorio fotografico, biblioteca, gruppo artistico, gruppo manutenzione, gruppo dell‘asilo, gruppo sportivo). Ovviamente gli abitanti possono scegliere liberamente a quali gruppi partecipare.
Bettenhaus offre spazio per la creativitá
Ogni abitante é incoraggiato a ridecorare la propria stanza e le stanze comuni del proprio appartamenti, cosí come gli spazi della cantina e ad iniziare nuovi progetti artistici.
Il „Rakete“ (il razzo) é il bar della Bettenhaus e puó essere utilizzato per riunirsi e socializzare, per concerti e feste, previa approvazione della riunione generale degli abitanti (MV).
Gruppi esterni
La Bettenhaus é anche un luogo d‘incontro per diversi gruppi culturali e politici che condividono i principi basilari della Bettenhaus. Prima di poter accedere agli spazi, tuttavia, i gruppi esterni devono chiedere l‘approvazione della riunione generale degli abitanti.

Les règles fondamentalles du Bettenhaus
A quoi ça sert ?
Comme dans chaque autre communauté, dans une maison auto-gérée de conflicts sont inévitable. Alors, la vie commune ne fonctionne qu‘avec certaines règles de base (minimal consens) qui doivent être acceptées et respectées par les habitant-e-s. Le respect de ces règles peut être réclamé à la communauté par chaque habitant-e ainsi que à chacun par la communauté. La vie commune néccessite une certaine mesure de compétence sociale et de responsabilité personelle.
Notre image de nous-même en tant que projet politique et social
Le Bettenhaus se voit comme alternative aux formes d‘habitations isolées, telles que la vie dans les résidences universitaires traditionelles ou dans les studios. Aussi, il se distingue de la vie commune dans les corporations d‘étudiant-
e-s traditionalistes : une forme de vie commune qui remonte en règle générale à l‘exclusion des femmes et à une vision du monde élitaire et hierarchique est incompatible avec nos convictions essentielles.
Le Bettenhaus en tant que projet collective, se définit comme international et auto-gérée sous forme de démocratie directe. Il ouvre l‘espace et les possibilités pour les alternatives à la vie traditionelle et isolée dans une societé qui est caractérisée par concurrence économique sans retenue et des idiologies d‘exclusion. Nous nous élevons alors attentivement contre chaque comportement qui exclut — activement ou passivement — certaines personnes. Nous désapprouvons chaque discrimination fondée sur une répartition des êtres humains dans des catégories comme „peubles“, „races“, „sexes“ ou „classes“. Nous réfusons également chaque défavorisation à cause de différences de l‘anatomie, de la motoricité ou des propriétés de l‘intellecte.
Pour que ces prétentions prennent effet au quotidien, il faut que certaines maximes soient acceptées et respectées par tou-te-s : Sans aucun doute, de la violence physique contre des personnes et leurs bien n‘est pas acceptable comme moyen de explication. Aussi, il est bien évident que des attaques ou discriminations nationalistes, sexistes, racistes, antisémites, fascistes, homophobes ne seront pas acceptées. Le respect de ces règles peut être exigé par chaque habitant-e. En cas d‘un incident, la personne concerncée peut compter sur la solidarité de la communauté. Celui-Celle qui viole les règles de la maison doit se rendre compte que nous nous réservons explicitement de le-la exclure de la solidarité de la maison, c‘est-à-dire qu‘il-elle doit quitter la maison.
Ensemble paritaire entre „femmes“ et „hommes“ et entre personnes avec et sans nationalité allemande.
Le principe anti-raciste, anti-sexiste, anti-anti-sémite et anti-fasciste mène à la prétention à occuper la maison paritairement entre „femmes“ et „hommes“ ainsi que entre „Allemand-e-s“ et personnes sans nationalité allemandes ou plutôt personnes qui ne sont pas perçues comme „Allemand-e-s“. Il en va de même pour la formation du conseil d‘administration. Pourtant, une repartition paritaire ne garantit pas une espace non-discriminatoire. Nous appellons alors aux habitant-e-s de se conformer aux principes afin de permettre une vie communautaire et alternative au Bettenhaus.
Démocratie directe
La fonction du conseil d‘administration se limite à l‘administration quotidienne. Toutes les décisions concernantes la maison sont prises par la réunion générale de la maison qui est ouverte à chaque habitant-e.

Organisation sous forme de collectif
Le Bettenhaus est auto-géré et donc auto-organisé. Pourtant, il ne s‘organise pas lui-même ! Puisque chaque habitant-e fait partie de la communauté de la maison, chacun-e est engagé-e à prendre la responsabilité pour le fonctionnement et la progression du projet Bettenhaus. Chacun-e est invité-e à participer aux réunions générales qui ont lieu régulièrement.
En dehors de cela, nous considerons comme juste d‘investir au moins une heure par semaine au projet. Il y a une beaucoup de possibilités de s‘engager : la participation aux commission diverses (conseil consultatif [Beirat], commission du Bettenhaus-Informations-Gespräch (BIG), commitée de consiliation), les relations publiques, des mesures d‘assainissement, le groupe de concierges, des projets d‘artistes, l‘organisation de la communication interne, -de la fête d‘été, -de soirées de cinéma, -de la bibliothèque, -de la salle de répétition, -de la salle de sport, -de l‘atelier, -du bar, -de projets de cooperation avec la crèche, la documentation de l‘histoire du Bettenhaus. Les habitant-e-s ont le choix libre entre ces tâches.
Le Bettenhaus offre l‘espace pour la créativité
Chaque habitant-e est invité-e à s‘impliquer dans la conception et décoration des chambres, des pièces communes dans les collocations et dans le sous-sol ainsi que dans d‘autres projets artistiques. La „Rakete“ (la fusée) est le pub du Bettenhaus. Sa fonction s‘étend sur utilisation pour les soirées hebdomadaires de pub, des concerts, et des fêtes après accord avec la réunion générale.
Groupes externes
Le Bettenhaus sert à lieu de rendez-vous pour des groupes politiques et culturels divers. Ces groupes doivent se solidariser avec les pricipes du Bettenhaus. Les groupes demandent le permis d‘utilisation des salles communes à la réunion générale.
